Hi, I’m Cheyenne A. Black — a political scientist, researcher fascinated by policy studies, especially in the vast and evolving domain of space. I’m currently a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Oklahoma, where my work blends natural language processing, network analysis, and computational text methods.
I’ve been fortunate to work with organizations ranging from the RAND Corporation, the U.S. Department of State, and the Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis. In these roles I had the opportunity of contributing to projects on space policy, environmental governance, risk communication, and national security. My research has appeared in peer-reviewed journals and I’ve presented my work at national and international conferences.
Outside the academic world, I’m an active participant in citizen science, logging insect and other wildlife observations to contribute to biodiversity databases. I also love oil painting, hiking, and exploring museums.
